Refreshing, entertaining and surprising - our fountain tour is the best way to discover Vienna, especially in summer! Immerse yourself with us in bygone legends, the history of the water supply and amusing imperial scandals involving uncovered body parts.

Is the legend of the smuggled cigarettes true or not, we ask ourselves right at the start of our tour on the Freyung square. In any case, we find out why the Austria Fountain is a very special one. On our way to the Hofburg palace, we are captivated by a nymph, while we don't quite know what to make of some of the modern fountains - creative or rather tasteless? Once we arrive at the center of the Habsburgs, we are introduced to the oldest surviving fountain in Vienna and the important topic of water supply in general. How did it actually work before the famous mountain spring pipeline?

We are surprised at how many fountains there are in Vienna and take a closer look at the one in the Burggarten park. Not unexpectedly, we then experience both joy and drama at the Opera House. We continue on to Neuer Markt square and even though the water here is rippling calmly today, we come across a real erotic scandal. How good that the fountain at the end of our tour reconciles us with pure romance!
