On this walk, we experience the topic of sustainability in its entirety. With floods and pollution, the history of the Vienna River confronts us directly with environmental problems of earlier times. We continue towards the old town, where we encounter a surprising initiative to save food in the 18th century. Sustainability also as a financial topic? The adventurous emergence of the National Bank teaches us just that. We deal with the problems caused by insufficient cleanliness at today's very chic Graben Avenue, right next to St. Stephen's Cathedral. And climate change today? We take a detailed look at a recently rebuilt square and ask how climate-ready the city is now. Just a few steps further on, we follow in the footsteps of the first hospitals in Vienna. What does this have to do with brewing beer? Wait and see! At the State Opera House we look behind the facade of the shiny Ring Avenue. Precarious working conditions and pollution were the side effects of industrialization. All the greater is our admiration for the idea of the 1st Alpine water pipe at the end at the Hochstrahlbrunnen fountain!
