SALES EXCELLENCE IN VIENNA
FIRE SPECTACLES, BEER FESTIVALS AND WATER BALLET - A TOUR THROUGH THE HISTORY OF EFFECTIVE SALES IN VIENNA
Customers want to be convinced! On our tour with surprising examples of effective marketing and sales in earlier times, we learn that this insight is not new. We start with a special coup at Schwarzenberg Square. Which innovative entrepreneur literally played with fire for his success here?
Elevators are part of everyday life for us today. People in the 19th century were much more skeptical and first had to be convinced of this new vehicle. We will see where Vienna’s first elevator for public use was installed! Electricity itself was almost as fascinating - people had to try it out, as we hear at the State Opera.
Another pioneer and master of commercialization actually came flying by balloon, we learn at the new market. At least as exciting: beer innovation made in Austria! We will also pass the imperial castle. The Habsburgs, by the way, were not so quickly convinced of balloons, not even by an early chess automat. After a short excursion into the world of cosmetics with a show in a class of its own, we end our tour at St. Stephen’s Square, at Vienna's first department store and with an automobile that was not at all convincing at the beginning!
