LEADERSHIP IN TIMES OF CRISIS

The House of Habsburg has produced the most diverse leaders. From whom can we still learn something for today? From the tenacity of Frederick III, for example? His ancestor Rudolf IV, on the other hand, was not at all good at dealing with setbacks and even became a forger - fortunately for Vienna, as can be seen at St. Stephen's Cathedral. While the reign of Ferdinand II was characterized by religious fanaticism, Joseph II is considered a revolutionary among the Habsburgs. Under his leadership, the civil service state came into being and he even encouraged his subjects to criticize him! The equestrian statue of Prince Eugene dominates the Heroes' Square today.
